THE CHALLENGE

With powerhouse vocals and a decade of hits, LP is one of the most beloved international singer-songwriters of their generation. For their highly anticipated album Love Lines, LP sought to push creative boundaries and explore deeper themes of love, identity, and connection.

They aimed to create an emotionally resonant music video for the crown single, “One Like You,” but faced a challenge: LP’s busy tour schedule left them just 10 days to conceptualize and execute the video.

Hearing about Milkshake’s creative expertise, LP reached out to see if the tight timeline was even possible. They wanted:

  • Big and beautiful creative that would set themes not just for “One Like You”, but their entire Love Lines album 

  • Production plans that could deliver on a rapid planning timeframe and only a single day to shoot

  • A final video cut and social plan that would maintain the artistic depth LP’s brand is known for.

Milkshake’s creative teams leveraged their marketing expertise to identify a unique opportunity that LP hadn’t even considered.

Recognizing the evolution in LP's narrative storytelling, we suggested reimagining the music video as a short story where LP becomes the central hero, navigating themes of love and high-stakes human risk.

We crafted a concept featuring LP in an art nouveau-inspired, surreal nightclub setting, exploring themes of self-realization and connection. The video presents LP in a series of evocative, cinematic scenes, portraying the artist’s journey through a dreamlike world filled with rich, symbolic imagery.

After crafting a detailed script, storyboard, and shot list, we assembled a cohesive team of creatives and production specialists to bring the vision of “One Like You” to life. Every element— from props and custom fonts to production design, costumes, and dynamic sets— was meticulously developed to highlight the key themes of the Love Lines album. 

No detail was overlooked. Even a branded card deck was created, which not only became a feature on LP’s official website but also appeared in future music videos!

Additionally, the video sparked increased engagement on LP’s social media.
